Alan Ainsworth is a Professor of English and Humanities. He served as Chair of the English Department from 2015-2021. He served as the President of the Faculty Senate 2010-2011. He has a B.A. from Rice University and a M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Houston. His interests include poetry, American and British Literature, rhetoric, developmental writing, humanities, and creative writing. His poetry and prose have appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, The Paris Review, The American Book Review, The New England Review, ArtLies, Mutabilis Press, SuperPresent, and other journals. He edited 75 Arguments, a reader, for McGraw-Hill. Four of his poems were set to music by Mary Carol Warwick and dance by Deborah Quanaim as part of the 2009 HCC-Central Dance Recital.
