Professional Information

Dr. Marina Grau is currently the Department Chair of the Accounting Department at the Houston Community College System - Southwest College.

Dr. Marina Grau attended the University of St. Thomas, where she graduated summa cum laude with a BBA in Accounting and an MBA in Marketing and Finance. Dr. Grau also attended Texas Southern University where she earned a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education with a minor in Accounting.

Dr. Grau is also a Certified Public Accountant with 20 plus years of experience in Public Accounting, Oil and Gas and Manufacturing firms.

Her teaching areas are: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Auditing and Government and Non-Profit Accounting.

Dr. Grau is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer at the University of St. Thomas, an active member of UST Alumni Association, Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, AICPA, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, Houston Chapter of Certified Public Accountants, and serves as an Accounting Advisory Board member of the University of Houston Downtown College, and Texas Southern University.

Dr. Grau received the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants “Outstanding Accounting Educator Award” for her excellence in Leadership, Teaching, and contributions to the accounting profession.

Dr. Grau believes that she is more than an accountant or an educator; she is "helping her students succeed".
