Introduction to the fundamentals, basic concepts, and terminology of networks. Topics include the access and use of the Internet and networking hardware and software, including current developments in networking. Required Materials: This course requires the use of: 1.Adequate hardware including a 1 GHz or faster CPU, 1GB or more of RAM, graphics card with 128 MB of memory, 4 GB of disk storage space and handle multimedia items (sound and maybe a microphone [suggested but not required this semester]). 2. Windows 7,8, or 10 operating system. 3. Web browser software –Chrome, Firefox. 4. High speed Internet access (DSL or cable -dial up will NOT work.) 5.
