Professor Cherise Johnson is a native Houstonian. She completed her graduate and undergraduate coursework at Texas Southern University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a Masters of Arts in Speech Communications. It was through working at a nonprofit organization that Professor Johnson saw there was a strong need for more people to feel comfortable while speaking publicly and she then began her teaching journey.
More than anything, Professor Johnson desires to help the future generations to learn how to communicate effectively. Her classes include real life, hands on assignments so students can understand how important communication is in their everyday lives. Being transparent to her students has allowed her students to be more receptive to constructive criticism all while helping them overcome their speaking anxiety and fears.
Lastly, she is just glad to have the opportunity to see the tangible benefits of helping those that are choosing a journey of success!
