Human Resources/PeopleSoft Intermediate (BMGT 1371)

This course is a continuation of PS 1394 which will provide students with the opportunity to expand the PeopleSoft Human Resources Information System (HRIS). In most companies, HR departments are implementing or have implemented some type of HR Information System. This course will provide students with a hands-on overview of the major areas of human resources/ PeopleSoft soft as illustrated by PeopleSoft software applications. Topics covered include intermediate use of Human Resources Reports, reporting tools, process scheduler, submitting a report request and employees tables. An extensive look at administering security; what is employee data security, security trees, how to set up employee data security and maintaining organization structure. Hiring employees, multiple components of pay, processing effective dated personnel actions and accessing PeopleSoft, navigating the PeopleSoft interface, understanding PeopleSoft panels, using PeopleSoft panels, and creating queries. Topics will be examined through lecture, in-class hands-on exercises, videotape, simulation, and homework assignments, and guest speakers.
