Firewall and Network Security (ITSY 2401)

A firewall is a critical and fundamental component to establish the boundary of communication between internal and external network by enforcing traffic flow using policies. From network standpoint, it is the first line of defense. This course aims to help students with 1. Gain an understanding to identify elements of firewall design 2. Gain an understanding to identify types of security threats. 3. Gain an understanding of best practices to design. 4. Gain an understanding of implementing a network security plan. 5. Gain an understanding of security incident postmortem reporting. 6. Gain an understanding of ongoing network security activities.
