General Biology I (BIOL 1406)

BIOL 1406 is a 4 credit hour majors biology lecture-lab course.
You will use HCC Eagle Online to access this course (http://eo2.hccs.edu).
The course is offered completely online or as a hybrid (refer to the syllabus).
For the lecture part, you will use the textbook, optional study guide and a variety of
study tools offered through Eagle Online.
When, the course is offered as a hybrid - you will be required to come to the campus
for the lab part while the lecture part will be completed online.
For online lab part, you will go through the interactive eLabs that I designed and
developed with the support of Chancellor's Innovation Fund Award. The goal is to give
you a "virtual" lab experience. You are required to complete the lab reports in your lab manual.
You will then take online exams.
The syllabus posted at this site may be adjusted to accommodate 
changes in HCC policies. All updates will be posted in Eagle Online that
will be available on the first day of the semester. 
The objective of this course is to give the students the basic knowledge of life sciences.
Topics include biological chemistry, cellular morphology, metabolism, Mendelian and
molecular genetics.
