Elementay Physics I (PHYS 1305)

Prerequisites: Must be placed into GUST 0342 ( or higher) in reading and ENGL 0310/0349 (or higher) in writing. General introduction to basic and fundamental principles in physics (with minimal or no computations) including: motion, gravity, momentum, energy, relativity, structures of matter, thermal energy, waves and sound. This course is intended as a non-lab-based preparatory course for students wishing to take PHYS 1401/ PHYS 1402, and also for those students wishing to take PHYS 2325 who have no prior knowledge of physics. A Core Curriculum Course. Note: Only one of PHYS 1305 or PHYS 1307 can be used to satisfy the requirement for associate degree in natural science. Only one of the two may count as a non-lab-based Natural Science core. The other may count as an elective in the degree plan.
