Medical Laboratory Technicians must be proficient in routine and diagnostic procedures in the field of Hematology. Emphasis will be placed on the principles and procedures of various tests performed in HEMATOLOGY II. Lectures will concentrate on to the theory and practical application of routine and special hematology procedures, both manual and automated, red blood cells and white blood cells maturation sequences, and normal and abnormal morphology and associate disease.  This course is the second part of a two-part course and concentrates on white blood cells disorders. Information gained from this course will be essential for successful completion of the Hematology section of the Board of Certification exam and for obtaining employment as an entry-level medical laboratory technician.
