Link 1. Must have a Windows 10 PC (no Mac or Chromebooks) • In this course, Students can only use a Windows 10 PC(computers), only. • Students will work in Visual Studio Community 2019, only environment. • (1)Students that do not have a Windows computer can use library computers to complete work, or • (2)Students can go to your local HCC library to get a loaner HCC Windows 10 computer, or. • (3)Students can also just purchase a personal Windows 10 Computer with the following specifications: o 1.8 GHz or faster processor. Quad-core or better recommended o 8 GB of RAM recommended (4 GB might work, not sure) o Hard disk space: 20-50 GB of free space. Students that have Mac Computers or Chromebook Computers experience issues with complete assignments, can result in failing grades. Therefore, you can not use a Mac computer or Chromebook computer in this course. Students must have course textbook on first day of class (9/20/21). And will complete tutorial assignments or follow-along assignments from course textbook (duration of course). Link 2. Get Visual Studio IDE Student required materials: 1. Windows 10 or Window version that can run Visual Studio Community 2019. 2. Visual Studio Community 2019 download and installed with < .NET desktop development > All required materials are mandatory for students to receive full-credit for assignments, discussions, major programming projects, etc. Students must work out of the course textbook in this course. Students must program applications in WinForms format of C#-.NET only. Students can not use Macs, Chromebooks, etc. There is no work-around. Students will be required to provide evidence of Windows computer combine with Visual Studio Community 2019 + .NET desktop development throughout this course. Full version of WinForms is only available on Windows machines. This is a Microsoft course, with Microsoft products only. If you are not sure then ask the instructor via Canvas - Inbox, as soon as possible. MAC users and Chromebook users - you will have to go to your HCC library to get a Windows loaner computer. Or purchase a personal Windows 10 computer with at least 8GB RAM and 250 HD space, click on requirements and read thoroughly before purchasing. Or go to your local HCC library and use the library's computers.. Link 4. Add (.NET Desktop Development) Framework in Visual Studio Installer Configure your visual studio installer for .NET Desktop Development for Windows Forms .NET Framework. This the framework and C# will be using in this course.
