Importance of the Media to Investigate and Report Waste, Fraud, Abuse, & Corruption (lecture PDF)

The most important function of journalism / media (either print, TV, radio, or social) is to provide a WATCHDOG role to investigate government activities to insure taxpayers are being treated fairly and honestly. Houston Chronicle Brian Rosenthal received a $35,000. prize and award in 2017 from the University of Southern California for his writing on the denial of special education services since 2004 by the State of Texas.
