Creative Writing (ENGL 2307)

Practical experience in the techniques of imaginative writing. May include fiction, nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, or drama. Core curriculum course. 3 Credit Hours. Prerequisites: ENGL 1301 or permission of the Department Chair.

A introduction to the techniques of writing imaginative works. Students participate in class discussions, create original works, and read examples of published works that exemplify the techniques presented in class. They also contribute to peer review and compile a portfolio of their original works. This portfolio is submitted at the end of the semester.
