Fundamentals of Specialized Written Translation (sci-tech) (TRAI 2271)

This course is an introduction to the field of technical translation, with emphasis on the practical skills needed to delivered completed assignments. The students will learn the steps in the process, including evaluation of source documents, estimating cost and delivery, preparing documents for translation, selection of reference materials, research new terminology, management of large projects, client expectations, and computer tools.
