Archive Syllabi in a Course

How to archive older syllabi in a course folder.

Faculty have been asked to keep syllabi posted online for two years after the classes have been taught. If you teach several sections of the same course, this will create quite a long list of syllabi even after just two semesters. The Learning Web has a feature that lets you archive these older course syllabi. This will hide them from the immediate course view, but still make them searchable for anyone to find on the site.

Step by Step

To get started, log in to the Learning Web and go to your portfolio. Then:

  1. Click on a course folder that contains a syllabus that needs to be archived.
  2. Click on the link to the syllabus.
  3. Locate the gray edit bar above the page title. On the far right, you should see "State: Published" in green.
  4. Click on the State drop down menu and select "Archive." Once the page has reloaded, you should see that the state has changed to "Archived."
  5. Return to the course page. The syllabus should no longer be visible under Course Information.
  6. To view the archived syllabus, click the "View past semesters" icon. Click "Hide past semesters" view only current syllabi.
